Will technology make going to college for years obsolete and unnecessary?

I mean with the endless information on the internet these days we can learn in just a few months stuff that used to take years and years of studying. Whenever I want to learn something new all I have to do is go to Youtube.com/edu or Wikipedia. There is so much information about Science, Technology, History, Politics etc out there that sometimes I wonder what the point of going to school is. I think the day will come when getting a degree will be so easy that all people have to do is take a few tests after just a few months of studying online. The next step after that will probably be a hard drive in your brain with everything you need to know.
