Ipod touch question...??help please, ten points for help?

so i was jailbreaking my ipod and it told me to go into dfu mode, and i wasnt sure how to but i did research and i did, but then my computer wouldnt read my ipod touch, and then i got out of dfu mode, and it still wont read my ipod touch, and you can connect you, you know that little chime it has, well it has that, but a little faded it sounds weird, can anyone help me
