Is Yasmin really as bad as it's made out to be?
I am a 20 year old female, who suffers from PCOS and Hypoglycemia. I am currently taking 500mg of Metformin once a day(twice a day made me really tired and gain weight) I have had irregular periods since I have had my period when I was about 12. I am finally deciding to start taking the pill to regulate my periods, because it frustrating not to have one. My last period was 6 months ago, no I am not pregnant I am a virgin, I went to the gynecologist and she prescribed me Provera to induce a period and also prescribed me Yasmin to start taking once I got my period. I have read a lot of things about Yasmin, but the way my gynecologist talked it was not risky like other birth control pills due to the lower dose of hormones than most birth control. I have not taken birth control until now, because I'm afraid of blood clots. She ured me I did not seem like someone who would have that problem, according to my information from my chart. She also told me that this would help me lose some weight, plus she also insisted that I take Metformin twice a day like I was. I was just wondering if anyone has had a good experience with Yasmin, because all I have read is bad things? Also, should I take Metformin twice a day or once?
