Shingles is a skin rash caused by the same virus that causes chickenpox. Anyone that has had chickenpox is at risk of developing shingles..The out break can last for3 to 4 weeks. Shingles are contagious. Your Dr. can give you medication to help heal the virus. They can be quite painful.
