Should i date him even though?

Today, my best friend told me she has a crush on this one guy that i've been friends with for a while. Lets say his name is "Trent". Well the thing is, later that day in science cl, Trent wrote this note about how he thinks im beautiful and funny and he really likes me, etc. and i thought it was REALLY sweet, and he's cute. My friend (Let's call her Lexi) she doesn't stay with one boy for long; when she is with someone, she usually is talking about another boy already. Anyways, my question is, should I Date him even though My friend likes him?
